Discovering Bali: a simple and quick guide to the Island of The Gods

On the western-most end of Lesser Sunda Islands, between Java to the west and Lombok to the east, lies the Indonesian island of Bali. It is mostly known for three things: wonderful beaches and dive sites, rich culture, and cheap massage.

Australia: more than just Sydney

“Did you know that everything in Australia will try to kill you?”

That’s what my buddy told me when I told him I’m moving to Australia a couple of years back. Why am I a Weekend Warrior?

A year ago I was working for a British-owned company that has an office in Cebu. At that same time, I was working as a home-based programmer for an Australian company. I would wake up at 6 o’clock in the morning and work until 2 o’clock in the afternoon for the Australian company. After that, I would have my lunch, shower, and get ready for my 4pm – 1am work in the office of the British one. At one point in 2014 I even had three jobs. The third one is for an American company based in Utah and I would work from 2am to 4am. I was a senior web developer for all three companies.

It was plenty of cash, but it wasn’t fun.

Exploring Southern Cebu: Badian, Oslob, Sumilon

If you have been to the island of Cebu but have not gone to Badian, Oslob, or Sumilon, then you just missed visiting three of the best parts of the island.

Last weekend, one of my closest friends, along with two of his girl friends and I went on a road trip from Cebu City to the southern part of the island of Cebu. Although I have been to most of the locations listed in the itinerary he presented, I didn’t hesitate to join them. After all, I’m a Weekend Warrior; I don’t say NO to adventures.
